TRIC has conducted beginner lessons on the first Sunday of each month for many years but new for 2008 we've teamed up with Venture Outdoors to offer our Sunday skate clinics and we've added quite a bit to them. 

 

In years past we have always offered quick lessons to any skater who has shown up on the trail but this year, with the help of Venture Outdoors, we are offering lessons and then some. We've added a short skate down the trail and more individualized attention. 

 

 Folks are still welcome to come see us on the first Sunday of each month at 11:30AM at the Eliza Furnace Trail Head (Greenfield End). The lessons this year are more in line with those that we offer each Wed night at the Liberty School in Shadyside. They consist of a brief stop and start lesson and some follow up where we watch each skater and give them a chance to skate around the parking lot while we watch and correct any issues with equipment, form, and technique.

 

Once the skaters are ready we take them on a short skate along the Eliza Furnace Trail and may even venture to the Southside via the Hot Metal Bridge. Thanks to Venture Outdoors for teaming up with us for this years Sunday skate lessons!
